Marefair Heritage Park
Northampton
The project features 16 striking Corten structures and two grand arches, created in collaboration with Northampton Council, Jeakins Weir, and BDP Architects. This exciting new green space connects Northampton town centre with the train station, helping to bring more visitors into the heart of the town.
In addition to the main works, a series of enhancements were delivered across the wider site to transform the space into a more engaging and accessible environment. These included the creation of landscaped green areas for leisure, a castle inspired children’s play space, a community garden, and an integrated heritage timeline.
New pedestrian routes were introduced alongside upgraded lighting, strengthening links to nearby historic landmarks and improving the character of the area. The walking route traces sections of the former Northampton Castle layout, while the play area incorporates cherry trees as a reference to the orchard that once stood within the castle grounds.

This project was funded through £1.6 million from the Towns Fund, further funding from Section 106 contributions and West Northamptonshire Council.
