These metal sculptures are the latest architectural metalwork project manufactured by specialist metal fabricators m-tec.

It was designed by Birtley employee Ron Barlow and was the winning entry to the Gate Guardian Competition, held to commemorate the modernisation of the business following the MASS Partnering Agreement dated August 2008 with the UK MOD.
